Sherwayne ready for Carnival 2011

January 20th, 2011 | By

Shurwayne Winchester is no stranger to the crown, and captured the 2006, 2008 and 2010 Groovy Soca Monarch titles in Trinidad, as well as the 2006 Power Soca Monarch and the 2004 and 2005 Road March titles.

With the Carnival Season truly upon us now Shurwayne has a whole arsenal of fire dropping and ready to drop some more.  So far Paradisin which should be the national anthem promoting  TnT , Paparazzi, Sweet Senorita , Maniac Monday and Over N Over which he considers to be the  2011 Carnival power tune .

Shurwayne says he hopes that this song brings him the same attention as Riding It did last year.

“Over N Over is a song that will bring the masqueraders back to the original home of carnival – the savannah,” he explained. “This song in particular is the jump out song; it will bring back the vibe of the savannah to the minds of masqueraders and people in general, it’s that kind of heart pumping, adrenalin rushing track.  If you missed the savannah stage and yuh ready for the savannah stage, this is the vehicle to take you there.”

Over N Over was produced by keyboardist/producer Geiron Mang at the at SW Limited Studios, who said, “This is my first power production for the season; I’m over excited!”

With much more music scheduled for release in the coming days and weeks.  Sherwin is prepared to take the masses on a carnival journey they’ll never forget.

Nas and Damian drop their 3 part documentary.  Part 1 Entitled Hope Road follows their arrival in Kingston and up to the Bob Marley Museum, the original Kingston Home of the late Bob Marley.

The documentary features appearances by Spragga Benz, Stephan Marley, Sizzla, and Wayne Marshall.  According to Hiphopdx, “Hope Road is the first film and is the story of that first night.   I remember before I even had a chance to set the camera up right Nas was like “Yo, yo film this… “ and launched into the whole speech he gives here about “Smokin’ Cubans on the steps of Bob Marley…” from there on I knew I had to keep the camera up and ready to go. Please wait for the little surprise after the credits… Dawn on Hope Road.”
