Witnesses take stand in Mavado trial

The trial against Mavado began this week.
Mavado has been charged with malicious destruction of property. The two witnesses, the accuser and his son, had and opportunity to give their testimony recounting the events that led to the alleged July 2011 attack.
They say that on the night of July 22, 2011 they were parking their car on Belmont Road in Mo Bay when Mavado and his entourage approached in their vehicles asking them to move so that they could pass.
When the man and his son refused to move their vehicle an argument and an eventual attack commenced. The witnesses told the court that the artist and his entourage used stones and a machete in their attack.
They also said that Mavado drove by them in his car and kicked the accusers door which pinned him against his vehicle before the deejay drove off.
Despite what was said in court Mavado’s attorney intends to pursue the matter as a traffic accident.
According to Mavado’s attorney the artist is anxious to tell his side of the story which he will have an opportunity to do next Tuesday.
