Veteran entertainer Freddie McGregor to publish a novel this year.
The book entitled I Will Wait For You will be published this this year by Pageturner Publishing House.
Pageturner also published Macka Diamond’s Bun Him & Gangster’s Wife Grown and Sexy, Miss Kitty’s Good Girl Gone Bad and D’Angel’s Love Triangle.
Veteran entertainer, Freddie McGregor is annoyed with the organizers of the 2012 Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival and has decided not to perform at the annual highly publicized event this year.
The Big Ship Productions CEO did an interview earlier this week voicing his concerns and complaints with the Jazz and Blues Fest organizers insisting;
“For too long we’ve been treated with skampish regard…and time come where we have to speak up…people have to speak for dem rights and speak for what dem want…I don’t know about other artists but I have to speak.
I don’t like the way the Jamaican artists are being promoted. Number 2 financially its not something that I am accustomed to doing festivals.
But my major concern is the way we are being treated both with the promotion and otherwise.
Look here this is Jamaica’s 50th anniversary and if as artists the artists and dem no stand up for dem right and for what dem believe in and what dem feel and a do wha dem wan do…then that’s a sad day.
Mi haffi stand up for what i believe in and I’m not playing no underdog role for nobody…”
Freddie who was expected to perform on Thursday night of the festival has already alerted event organizers that he has decided not to attend.
The 2012 Jazz and Blues Festival is expected to be bigger than ever this year with international superstar Celine Dion as the main headliner.
The show will also feature performances from Destra, Marcia Griffiths, Yellow Man, Kymani Marley and Luciano and many more.
The three day event will be held from January 26th thru the 28th at the Green Field Stadium in Trelawny.
