Kartel’s most recent letter from prison

March 6th, 2013 | By

011, I was charged for murder by way of a statement which indicated that I had ordered Lenburgh McDonald to murder Barrington ‘Bossie’ Burton. Weeks later, said witness gave a statement to the Public Defender saying that he was physically assaulted and threatened by the police to say that I was involved in ‘Bossie’ Burton’s death. Days later, he gave another statement to the Public Defender saying that since he recanted the first statement, he has been getting death threats via calls to his phone.”

“Days after my first murder charge, I was charged with another murder (Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams).  In this case, the police (by way of a Senior Superintendent who was later charged with “attempting to pervert the course of justice” in a separate incident) campaigned every Monday morning on a certain TV station claiming they had DNA evidence, which came back 7 months later as negative.  They also led the public to believe that they had video tape of me and my co-accused murdering Williams. I would like to add that the police made a lot of damaging remarks against me. A most notable one would be “since his arrest, the community is a safer place.”

“On Saturday, February 16th, 2013, my lawyer Ms. Valrie Neita Robertson showed me a document produced in a bail hearing by the prosecutor signed by a high-ranking member of the J.C.F which states that three cell phones were found in my cell during a search on January 22nd, 2013. My bail was denied based mainly on this blatant lie by the Jamaican police,” he said.

011 and January 22nd, 2013. I have been in custody since the 30th September 2011.”

“P.S. I have written to INDECOM twice, one letter was delivered by my common law wife in early February and one by attorney-at-law Miguel Lorne on or about February 20th, both in 2013, and whilst the true record of the search as it relates to “what was found where” is at the Horizon Remand Centre, I doubt I will get the same equitable outcome at the Gun Court Remand Centre because only their fellow officers (police) work there.”

“Everything as it relates to my case is a fabrication, everything is fabricated. Don’t know whose corn I may have stepped on in the past but it is now coming back to haunt me.”

July 20th, 2012 | By

Last week Nicki Minaj was reportedly defrauded out of 100, 000 dollars while in Trinidad shooting her latest video Pound the Alarm.

The person who introduced London Alley Entertainment to the fraudster who ran off with their $100,000 is said to be the son of a senior Government official.

Local reports say that the gentlemen promised to provide services on the shoot but instead took the cash without delivering anything.

Police have since confirmed that a report has been filed by London Alley Entertainment, which shot and produced the video in which Machel Montano makes a cameo.

The man who received money from London Alley  has not up to yesterday returned the money.

The conman is said to own a locally based video production company is said to have since moved into an apartment in Westmoorings.

After the story was published in the local Trinidad newspaper, people from the local entertainment fraternity began to call, text and BBM in an attempt to find out exactly who the fraudster was.

Some who already knew who the person was began to post messages on BBM, Twitter and even his Facebook account.

One message posted on Facebook by a member of the local film making fraternity charged that the man had destroyed years of hard work by dedicated people to have Trinidad and Tobago seen as a desired location for international filmmakers. “You have almost solely sullied the reputation of this beautiful land,” the person wrote.

Local Trini‘s continue to express their disgust over the incident, saying they hope the perpetrator will be jailed.

Some say they knew the man well and of his criminal ways, while others did not have a clue as to who he was and where he worked or who he was connected to.

Kartel Remanded Again

February 3rd, 2012 | By

Vybz Kartel, was again remanded in custody after appearing before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday February 1, 2012.

The deejay was answering to charges of perverting the course of justice.

His co-accused Vanessa ‘Gaza Slim’ Saddler and Andrew Henry, also known as ‘Pim Pim’ had their bails extended.

All three were ordered to return to court on May 8.

The prosecution contends that Henry contracted Saddler to make a false police report saying that she was robbed by Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams.

Williams was allegedly beaten to death in  Havendale, St Andrew over the disappearance of two firearms.  Prosecutors say the police report was made to give the  impression that Williams was still alive.

Vybz Kartel 2 be charged with Conspiracy alongside Gaza Slim

December 14th, 2011 | By

Constant Spring Police have said that Kartel will be charged alongside Gaza Slim aka Vanessa Bling for attempting to pervert the course of justice.

This was disclosed when Gaza Slim appeared before the court this morning on the same charges.

Slim is accused of making a false police report and today investigators reported that they have the evidence linking Vybz Kartel to the alleged plot.

Gaza Slim was remanded until December 19th when she will appear in court jointly with Vybz Kartel.

A senior investigator told TVJ News that they are making arrangements to interview Kartel who will then be charged.

The police have reported that on October 29th Gaza Slim visited the Constant Spring police station and reported that she had just been robbed by Clive Williams, the man whose murder Vybz Kartel has been charged with.

Police say this was in an attempt to prove that Williams was not dead.

It is understood that police seized a cell phone with a text message to Slim instructing her to fabricate the story.

Gaza Slim questioned by police

December 7th, 2011 | By

Gaza Slim turned herself into the police Monday afternoon after she was named as a person of interest by the Constant Spring Police on December 1st.

According to police sources, authorities have evidence including phone records showing that Bling and Kartel planned to ”stage a robbery that did not occur.”

Gaza Slim is now being investigated for conspiracy and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Slim was accompanied by her attorney when she turned herself in and was scheduled to be questioned yesterday (Tues 12/6/2011) afternoon.

The Robbery

About a month ago reports surfaced that Gaza Slim also known as Vanessa Bling made a report to the St. Andrew police alleging that she was assaulted and robbed from a person claiming to be Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams.

This is the same Clive Lizard Williams that her mentor Vybz Kartel is accused of murdering on August 16th of this year.

Her report made headlines just 5 days after Kartel was charged with William’s murder.

Palmer’s attorney Christian Tavares-Finson scoffed at the notion of a staged robbery to help the case of the defense.

“As far as we are concerned we have a long road ahead and will not allow Mr Palmer’s defence to be side-tracked by rumours,” he said.
